Back for a second year running, it’s our favourite regional coffee from Colombia! This is the coffee we’re using as our main espresso in the cafe. Just like last year it’s got a well balanced flavour profile we love with bags of sweetness, a medium-full body and juicy sweet acidity. It’s an allrounder, so brew using your favourite method and enjoy with or without milk.

This is a regional lot made up of coffee grown by a number of smallholder producers whose farms are in Inza municipality on the western side of Cauca. It comes to us through the importer Cofinet, which was started in 2015 by the Arcila brothers, Carlos and Felipe. They’re from a longstanding coffee growing family with strong links to the region. In fact we roasted a coffee grown by their father, Jairo Arcila, as our Christmas coffee in 2022. We also got our Popayan decaf from them that year.

The average farm size of the smallholders who grew this coffee is 0.5 to 1.5 hectares. The land in Inza boasts a refreshing climate with temperatures ranging between 16°C and 22°C, creating optimal growing conditions for the coffee plants. Additionally, the fertile volcanic soil in the area provides essential nutrients to the plants.

The Tierradentro region of western Cauca is home to the Paeces indigenous tribe. Occupying 80% of the area, the tribe has a significant influence on the region's culture and practices. This lot of coffee comes to us through the importer Cofinet who works with their partners Occicafe and Globalcafe to establish direct relationships with farmers.
